      How to Play

🔍 First Puzzle: Enter the Pattern Lab

Choose a starting domain—Visual, Letters, Numbers, or Number Series. Each domain opens into curated packs that highlight different families of patterns: repeating units, skip-counting, letter shifts, alternating rules, growth sequences, and more. Pick a pack, then press Start to reveal your first puzzle.

      🧠 Solve the Sequence

Study the sequence in front of you. One item will be blank—usually at the far end. Look for repeating shapes, alternating attributes, increasing numbers, directional changes, or symbolic transformations. When you think you understand the rule, tap the answer tile that completes the pattern.

A wrong answer gives gentle feedback: the tile wiggles briefly before settling back into place, marking the moment to rethink. Two wrong attempts unlock a short hint tailored to the puzzle type—nothing too revealing, just a nudge toward the correct structure. You must still choose the right option to move forward.

➡️ Flow from Puzzle to Puzzle

A correct answer bathes the sequence in a soft glow, confirming your insight. The next puzzle appears automatically, keeping momentum high and minimizing downtime. You may switch packs or domains at any time to explore different kinds of structure—from vivid shape cycles to deep number theory.

      🌱 Grow Your Pattern Sense

As you progress, you’ll sharpen your ability to recognize rhythms: repeating visual units, symbolic loops, alternating odd/even structures, additive ladders, multiplicative jumps, and classic mathematical sequences. Try increasing the difficulty when you crave more nuance or more deceptive distractor options.

🧭 Strategies for Spotting the Rule

Say the pattern out loud in your own words before choosing an answer: “triangle, triangle, circle, repeat” or “+2 every step” or “red, blue, yellow, red…”. Naming the structure turns an implicit hunch into an explicit rule, making it easier to confirm or question your guess.

      🌐 Patterns Across Representations

Whether you’re looking at shapes, letters, emojis, or numbers, the underlying skill is the same: noticing how something changes from one position to the next. Switching between categories shows that pattern sense is a general reasoning skill, not tied to any single type of content.

🔄 When the Pattern Feels Tricky

Not all sequences reveal themselves instantly. If something feels confusing, examine differences between adjacent items, try identifying a repeating block, or look for movement (size, position, orientation). Every pattern follows a rule, and every rule becomes discoverable once you know where to look.

      ✨ Why Pattern Picking Matters

Spotting patterns is at the heart of mathematics, reading, coding, scientific thinking, and even art. Each puzzle in Pattern Picker invites learners to slow down, notice structure, and make sense of change. It’s not just a game — it’s a workout for the brain’s sequencing muscles.
